Where is the low pressure connection for the air conditioning system of a 1998 Mercury Mystique V6?

This car uses R134a so you can't go wrong because the high and low sides are different sizes. The low pressure fitting is smaller than the high pressure fitting so you can't accidentally put a low pressure recharge fitting on a R134a high pressure line.

The low pressure line will naturally have larger volume so it's the larger line connected to the AC compressor. Trace that line and find the fitting on it...connect recharge line. (I'm assuming that's what you doing).

BTW...the real true way to check is the refrigerant is low is to get a ac manifold gauge set and check the high pressure side also. If both are low then the refrigerant is low. But is the low side is low and the high sid is high then you have a different problem. Check this VIDEO out...

You can get a cheap ac manifold gauge set from harbor freight for $50.

Funny thing...my 2001 T&C needs and recharge and that's what I'm doing tomorrow.
