I have noticed that after our sump pump runs there is a small amount of clear greasy film where the pump discharges on to our driveway. It hasn't always done this, just recently. I'm wondering if it's anything I need to worry about; my husband says it's nothing, and not to worry! Confused

Check to see if there's any oil in the basin for your sump pump. If there is, and it's clearish, then it's probably the oil in the sump pump that's leaking out. If this is the case, you need to fix your sump pump or buy a new one Confused . If oil is getting out, then water is getting in, and water in the oil of your sump pump will eventually burn out the pump motor.
