| I've never heard of painting vinyl siding... I'd check with the manufacturer first. Otherwise, experiment with KILZ, or any other alkyd based primer. Good luck. |

You most certainly can paint vinyl siding
Make sure you prepare properly. Here are some tips that I read about:
- Clean the siding - Pressure wash the siding to remove any large contaminants, then scrub the siding with a TSP/water solution to remove any grease, dirt, mold, mildew, or chalky oxidation. (protect plants and grass when you do this!) Then pressure wash it to rinse it off. This cleaning is very important because you don't necessarily need to prime before painting, and you need a good clean surface.
- Many experts say that you don't need to prime the vinyl siding. I would prime it anyway, because primers have more binders in them then finish coats and will therefore stick better to the siding. Prime once, and put on two finish coats. Use 100% acrylic paint.
- Don't use darker paint colors - these colors will absorb heat and possibly warp or bow your siding! The siding is install with some play in it for expansion and contraction, but not that much.
