We are starting the remodeling of our kitchen, which requires the removal of a lot of plaster and lath. My question is, how do we keep dust down and prevent the migration of dust throughout the rest of our home?

Buy large sheets of plastic (otherwise known as visqueen, sp?) and tape them to walls, especially around openings, or hallways, use the 3M blue tape, 2", so you don't tear paint off the walls and ceilings. Keep the windows and doors closed, and air conditioning off so the dust settles quickly instead of circulating throughout the home. But, just as good policy, change the air filter in your furnance when you're done.

I know these posts are older but I'm new on here so I wanted to chime in. I helped a friend of mine this past weekend do some kitchen remodeling. We hung large sheets of plastic around all the openings of the kitchen the covered everything else we could find with blankets. I hope it all went well!
