I was working on some bathroom plumbing from underneath in our kitchen and happened to drip PVC primer on the linoleum. The linoleum is a light neutral color (not resilient) and now there's a quarter inch bright purple dot in the middle of the floor! Mad

Has anyone had any success in removing a PVC primer stain from linoleum?

It depends how porous the material is that is stained...linoleum though resistant to water, is pretty porous when it comes to the solvents that are used in the primer (MEK, acetone).

I don't think you can get this stain out, but if I were to try, I would buy another can of primer of the same brand except the clear kind. It will contain the same solvents as the purple primer, minus the pigment. This may dissolve the stain...it depends how long it has been sitting.

Some manufactures make a PVC pipe cleaner, which is similar to the primers. You might want to try this as well. I know Oatey makes a cleaner.

BTW use the CLEAR primer next time!!!
