Does anyone know what the easiest way to replace a peice of landscape edging is? I got a little close to it with the mower last night and I just need to replace a section that's about a foot long. I don't want to replace the whole thing!

The most seamless way to fix it with out replacing the whole thing is to do the following:
- Cut out the bad section.
- Cut a new piece of edging that is 8" longer than the section your replacing.
- For 4" on each end, cut off the round tube part on the top and the anchor part on the bottom. The 4" in the middle is used to overlap on each end of the original edging.
- Use the little joiner tubes(2) that butt two ends of edging, to secure the new section to the old edging. They fit in tight, so you might want to use a little dish soap to ease it in!
- Finally, secure the overlapping center section of the new edging to the old with your favor fastener. I would use a few rivets!
Let me know how it goes!

You can get them at any home improvement or hardware store. You'll find them right by the landscape edging. They are plastic tubes about 1/2" in diameter that fit into the round part of the edging to butt two ends of edging together. |
