|
|
Prior to redoing the brakes on my car I had a significant shimmy during braking. I suspected that it was a warped rotor on the front so I did the brakes on my car. I installed new pads, and had the rotors turned or replaced.
I took my car out for a test drive and to my suprize, the shaking was still there!
What could cause shaking during braking, when the rotors aren't warped? |

I think it's probably your caliper guide pins. If they aren't properly lubricated (using the wrong lubricant, or none at all!), they will freeze up. When you press on the brakes the caliper only provides pressure to one side of the rotor disc, or most of the pressure to one side. This situation will cause your brakes and tires to vibrate!
Let us know what it is for sure, but I can almost guarentee that's it |
