I have a sink sprayer that isn't working properly. When I press the trigger, there isn't much pressure (certainly not enough to clean anything), and most of the water is still coming out of the faucet.

I suspect that it is a water pressure problem, so I had the city check it when they replace my water meter. He said its 40-42 psi, and said it is adequate.

Ideas?

It's not the water pressure, 40 psi is good!

It's the water diverter in the faucet that is not doing its job for some reason. You need to take apart the faucet (you can usually get a diagram, with instructions from the manufacturers website), and clean the diverter from deposits. Put the faucet back together and see if it works, if this doesn't, then replace the diverter. Home Depot carries all sorts of faucet parts and kits.

Let us know how that works!
