| I'm searching for a glue that is pliable, holds well, yet peels off when you need it to with no damage to the product it's stuck to. Currently I'm using your typical hot glue and it's proving to be a bit too brittle. Any ideas? |

I would still use a hot glue gun, but with different glue. The all-purpose glue sticks are not very good at holding things together especially under sheer loads. Most hot glue won't provide a permanent bond, but obviously you need something slightly stronger but still provide a temporary bond.
I would recommend fugitive glue if you wanted something that was temporary and a little more pliable. Fugitive glue is the "booger" glue that is widely used to stick credit cards to paper. However, I don't think you can get it in a stick form to be used in a glue gun. So, the alternative would be to find a glue gun stick that has slightly more adhesion properties than the general/all purpose stuff. Glu-Stix has a wide variety of glues to choose from, but some require a expensive bulk purchase. I would just go to Ben Franklin or other craft store, see what type of glue sticks they carry, and purchase something a little stronger than the all purpose glue, such as jewelry glue. |
